Assessment process overview

Prior to Consultation:

Before the initial consultation, an intake form, screening questionnaires and an agreement will be sent to you via email. Please return these at least 48 hours before the arranged assessment. If you have copies of school reports, they would be beneficial to have provided prior to the assessment.

Focused Assessment:

You will meet with Dr Nicola Rose and discuss your current challenges, what has led you to have the assessment, and an overview of your history. The questionnaires you have completed will also be addressed.

A further set of assessment sessions will then be scheduled with you. This will focus on gaining additional information about you and the current challenges you are experiencing through structured, evidence-based interviews designed to assess for ASC and ADHD. You will be invited to bring someone who knows you well to help provide additional information for part of the assessment process; additional questionnaires will be sent to you to be completed by two other individuals. One who knows you well now (such as a friend, housemate or partner) and one from someone who knew you well as a child (such as a parent or sibling).

You may be requested to complete further online assessments in this session or before. It may be necessary to have this stage split over two to four sessions.

Report:

The report aids self-understanding and provides evidence of a diagnosis; it is not for legal or court purposes. The report will be developed using the information provided during the assessment and any referral information provided. The report and diagnostic information will be as accurate as the information that you have provided. The report will be sent to you before the follow-up session. Once it is reviewed and agreed upon, a final report will be sent to you.

Follow-up session:

A 30-60 minute follow-up session is included in the cost to review the report and outcome, to ensure accuracy of information and to discuss any recommendations. The follow up session is always provided via zoom.

Additional optional step:

Referral Post Assessment for those who self-refer.

If a diagnosis of ADHD is made and a referral to a Consultant Psychiatrist or Prescriber is agreed upon, please be aware that this will be at an additional cost to those quoted, payable to the Consultant directly. Initial appointment fees vary in price, and fees for follow-up sessions may be required. Private medical insurance may cover such appointments.
